Flowerhorn Cichlids are striking, man-made hybrid fish famous for the distinctive hump on their head (kok or nuchal hump) and their bright, shimmering body patterns.
Appearance: Features vibrant red, pink, blue, or yellow scales with dark, flower-like spots along its sides and a pronounced forehead hump.
Size: Grows large, typically reaching 12–16 inches (30–40 cm).
Behavior: Extremely aggressive, highly territorial, and intelligent—often recognizing its owner and interacting through the glass, but must be kept alone in a tank.
Care: Requires a large tank (minimum 75–100 gallons), strong filtration, warm water (80–86°F / 26–30°C), and a protein-rich diet to maintain its bump and color.
