Fluorescent Fish (commonly known as GloFish) are genetically modified freshwater fish that express a fluorescent protein, making them glow brightly under standard lighting and vivid neon under blue or UV blacklight.
Origin: Created by introducing jellyfish and coral genes into species like zebra danios, tetras, barbs, and shark minnows.
 Colors: Electric Green, Sunburst Orange, Cosmic Blue, Galactic Purple, Starfire Red, and Moonrise Pink.
 Glow Mechanism: They re-emit light rather than generating their own power (not bioluminescent or injected with dye).
 Care: Easy to care for—identical requirements to their non-fluorescent, wild-type species (peaceful, tropical temperatures 72–80°F / 22–27°C).
